ACM Award-winning sister duo Tigirlily Gold release their highly anticipated sophomore album, Country & Midwestern, available now. The 15-track project celebrates the people, places, stories, and Midwestern roots that have shaped Kendra and Krista, arriving as the sisters wrap an interactive road trip through the region that inspired the album.
The journey began last Friday in Chicago and has taken Tigirlily Gold from Illinois to Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota before bringing them home to North Dakota. Along the way, the sisters have visited the iconic Cloud Gate, stopped at the World’s Largest Truck Stop, cheered on the Wisconsin Badgers, and experienced countless fan-recommended destinations, local favorites, and Midwest traditions, documenting the adventure across their social channels. See their latest update on socials here.
The road trip culminates today in Fargo, where the sisters will celebrate the release of Country & Midwestern with an in-store album signing at Walmart. Raised in Hazen, a one-stoplight town in North Dakota, Tigirlily Gold is returning to the state that shaped their music and identity to celebrate the album with fans, friends, and their hometown community.
“We took two things we love dearly – the Country music we grew up on and our Midwestern roots – and turned them into our sophomore record,” Kendra and Krista explain. “We’re so proud of this album and truly feel it’s our best body of work yet. We hope fans can hear our progression as artists and people over the past couple of years, but most of all, we hope people hear their own stories in these songs. We can’t wait to welcome everyone into the land of Country & Midwestern. Watch for deer!”
The album’s lead track, “Girl’s A Goner,” puts Tigirlily Gold’s signature storytelling front and center, capturing the rush of falling headfirst into a whirlwind romance. Written by Krista Slaubaugh, Kendra Olson, Johnny Clawson, and Lauren McLamb and produced by Pete Good, the playful, high-energy track follows a love story moving at full speed and showcases the duo’s knack for pairing relatable storytelling with infectious Country hooks.
Country & Midwestern is divided into two chapters, Country and Midwestern, and explores the sisters’ evolution as songwriters and artists while remaining grounded in the humor, heart, community, and values of their North Dakota upbringing. Produced Pete Good with Krista Slaubaugh making her vocal production debut, the album features 15 songs, including a melodic interlude connecting its two chapters.
The project also features a particularly special family contribution: Tigirlily Gold’s Grandpa Bruce is the album’s only featured guest, appearing on “Folgers,” a heartfelt nod to the family and Midwestern traditions at the center of the sisters’ story.

The album arrives following a special release celebration at Chief’s on Broadway in Nashville on September 30. Hosted by Amber Anderson of WSM Radio, the intimate event featured a Q&A with Kendra and Krista alongside producers Alex Kline and Pete Good, as well as performances of unreleased album tracks and revealed Grandpa Bruce’s appearance on “Folgers” before performing the song live. Signature cocktails and hotdish recipe cards added another touch of the Midwest to the Nashville celebration.
Now, after a week spent exploring the region that inspired the album, Tigirlily Gold is bringing Country & Midwestern home, celebrating its release in North Dakota and inviting fans to experience the people, places, and stories that make the Midwest their home.
