Canadian Country recording artist Justin Fancy returns with his brand-new single “Can’t Stop”, a powerful modern-country anthem that blends heartfelt storytelling with the kind of big, radio-ready hooks that have established him as one of the most exciting voices in Canadian country today.
Written from the perspective of a man caught between devotion and destruction, “Can’t Stop” tells the story of loving someone so deeply, yet knowing you’re the one tearing it apart. With soaring guitars, driving rhythms, and a chorus built for singing at the top of your lungs, the track captures the emotional tug-of-war between passion, fear, and regret. The bridge reveals Fancy at his most vulnerable, confessing: “If I could be a better man, I’d love you like nobody can.”

Hi Justin, you’ve had a busy year with new music and some major festival shows — what’s been the biggest highlight for you recently?
Honestly, the biggest highlight for me has to be opening for and getting to meet Blake Shelton. It was one of those pinch-me moments. I’ve been a fan of his music and his journey for years, and to share the same stage with him — and actually have a conversation with him backstage — was surreal. It’s something I’ll carry with me for a long time.
Your new single “Can’t Stop” feels both powerful and vulnerable — especially that bridge line, “If I could be a better man, I’d love you like nobody can.” Was that lyric the emotional anchor of the song from the start?
Yeah, that line was really the heart of the song from day one. It came out almost instinctively, and as soon as it did, I knew we had something real. It captures that feeling of wanting to do right by someone but recognizing your own flaws in the process. It’s vulnerable, but that’s what makes it honest. I’ve always believed the best songs come from that place of truth.
You co-wrote the song with Clint Curtis, who you clearly have strong creative chemistry with. What makes your creative partnership click so well in the writing room and in the studio?
Clint and I have a great musical relationship because there’s zero ego between us. We both just want to write the best song possible. We’re honest with each other — if something doesn’t feel right, we’ll say it, and if something sparks, we both know instantly. He also understands my sound and what I want to say as an artist, so it’s easy to build from that shared vision. It’s a really natural flow when we’re in the room together.

You are quoted as saying the song started from just a rough melody and a few scattered lyrics. What was the moment when you knew, “Yeah, this is something special”?
It was during one of those moments when the pieces just started to fall into place. Clint started building on the melody I had, and suddenly the chorus hit — and it just felt right. You get that goosebump moment where you look at each other and go, “Okay, we’re onto something here.” That’s when I knew “Can’t Stop” was going to be special. It had that emotional punch and honesty that I always look for.
So what are your plans for the song? Will you be making a music video for it?
Yes — we’ve got a music video in the works! I’m really excited about it because it’s going to visually tell the story in a way that’s cinematic but still personal. The goal is to capture that push and pull between love and heartbreak that the song represents. Beyond that, I’m planning to bring “Can’t Stop” to as many stages as possible — I can’t wait to see how it connects with people live.
Let’s have some fun. If “Can’t Stop” were a movie, which actor would play you, and who would play the other person in the story?
That’s a tough one! I’d probably say Luke Grimes — he’s got that cool, quiet strength but also a real emotional depth, which fits the tone of the song. As for the other person in the story, I’d go with someone like Jennifer Lawrence — she’s got that mix of confidence and vulnerability that really matches the story’s emotion.
You’ve shared the stage with country stars like Blake Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Dean Brody, Meghan Patrick, and many others. Who would be your ultimate dream duet partner (even if it’s an artist outside the country genre)?
I’d love to do a duet with Chris Stapleton someday. His voice and songwriting are just on another level — raw, soulful, and real. Outside of country, I think it’d be amazing to collaborate with someone like Adele. She brings so much emotion to every note, and that kind of connection is what I strive for in my own music.
You have had some big career milestones since you started releasing music in 2020, including a bunch of awards and nominations. What is the one thing you are most proud of so far?
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come as an independent artist. From releasing my first single to now playing major festivals, earning awards, and getting national recognition — it’s been a wild ride. Every step has been built on hard work, perseverance, and the amazing support from fans back home and across the country. That’s something I’ll always be grateful for. The people behind the scenes that have constantly given everything they’ve got to help me advance my career are to be recognized as well, I would not be where I am today without their guidance and belief in me.
If you could relive one moment from your music career so far — just to experience it all over again — what would it be?
I’d relive the moment I heard my song on the radio for the very first time. I was in the car, and it just came on unexpectedly. Hearing my voice and my words coming through those speakers was such a surreal, emotional experience. It reminded me that all the long nights and sacrifices were worth it. Still to this day, I still get that feeling when my song is heard on the radio, whether it be me that hears it, or someone messages me from somewhere across Canada – that still blows my mind.
With the new single out, multiple award nominations at the upcoming Music NL Awards, and an exciting year behind you — what’s next on the horizon for Justin Fancy? What is on your 2026 bucket list?
I’m really focused on continuing to grow as an artist — more new music, more shows, and connecting with as many people as I can through my songs. We’re currently working on a new album, and I’d love to tour more across Canada and beyond. On my 2026 bucket list? Definitely a #1 song! 🙂
