Saskatchewan-born, award-winning country artist Josh Stumpf released his new single, “Highway Money,” today via MDM Recordings. Marking his debut release with the label, the track showcases Stumpf’s raw, soulful energy and his signature blend of outlaw country, 80s two-step, and gritty country rock.
Fresh off his win as Saskatchewan Country Music Awards’ 2024 Emerging Artist of the Year, Stumpf continues to turn heads with his authenticity, exceptional songwriting, and undeniable stage presence. “Highway Money” is a new chapter for Stumpf, solidifying his place as one of Canada’s most exciting new voices in country music
“‘Highway Money’ is a cool, summer-sounding song about young love, hard work and freedom with an upbeat guitar,” shares Stumpf. “I wrote this song with Dwave (Thomson) and Jason Blaine, who are phenomenal songwriters, and it was absolutely the coolest experience I’ve ever had recording a song with some extremely talented people.”
The release follows his 2023 breakout debut, “Drink Me a Lullaby,” which introduced listeners to Stumpf’s storytelling power and vocal strength. Now, backed by the team at MDM Recordings, he’s poised to bring his dynamic sound to an even broader audience.
