JUNO and 9X CCMA Award-Winning Band, THE WASHBOARD UNION Announce “Grab the Wheel and Go” Tour

JUNO and 9x CCMA award-winning band The Washboard Union is excited to announce their 2024 Canadian fall tour. The “Grab the Wheel and Go” tour will kick off on October 24th in Lac La Biche, AB and make stops across the country with shows in Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

As the lyric from the band’s anthemic hit “Drink Em Up” states, “you can spend your days just waiting or you can grab the wheel and go.” This tour underscores the importance of hitting the road, and The Washboard Union’s dynamic live show highlights that the stage is exactly where the band is meant to be. The band will be joined on the tour by SIRIUSXM Top of The Country finalist Tony Stevens on all BC dates, and award-nominated The Red Hill Valleys on all Ontario dates, with additional dates featuring The Prairie States.

The “Grab the Wheel and Go” tour will also offer exclusive “Union” VIP packages, including a special pre-show acoustic session with the band, beverages and more. VIP packages can be purchased separately for each show atwww.thewashboardunion.com/vip.

“The “Grab The Wheel and Go” tour will take us across this beautiful country to cities and towns both big and small. Places we have never been before and places we can’t wait to go back to,” said Chris Duncombe of The Washboard Union. “Our Washboard Union fans are family and have always made us feel like we are coming home no matter where we go. Each place is different with its very own story and people. We can’t wait for our fans to experience this brand new show, and perform songs from our new album WESTERLY.”

The tour follows the release of the band’s 10-song album, WESTERLY in July. The collection of songs, distributed via Universal Music Canada, features the band’s hit singles “I Run On Country,” “Gather Round” and “Band On Her T-Shirt,” which recently reached the #1 most added spot at Canadian Country radio.

WESTERLY was produced by The Washboard Union, Matt McClure (Lee Brice) and Dave “Dwave” Thomson (Lady A, High Valley) and is a call home to the wild landscapes of the west that have fueled and inspired the band from their beginnings. Sonically, WESTERLYis anthemic, blending gritty country and soaring choruses, underpinned by The Washboard Union’s signature three-part harmonies that have won them fans the world over.

The Washboard Union, composed of step-brothers Aaron GrainChris Duncombe and their best friend David Roberts, have carved their place as one of Canada’s top country bands. Some of their many successes include reaching over 85 million career streams, 380,000 radio spins, one Platinum and four Gold-certified singles and 35+ total award wins. They are three-time consecutive CCMA Group of the Year winners, and remain the only country group to ever win a JUNO Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year. Most recently, The Washboard Union was nominated for two 2024 CCMA Awards for Group of the Year and Special of the Year for “A Washboard Union Christmas”.

In 2023 The Washboard Union brought their dynamic and engaging live show to stages across North American, including Country Thunder Florida, Country Thunder Wisconsin and YQM Fest, and shared stages with headliners like Cody Johnson, Hardy, Thomas Rhett, and many more. The band kicked off their live shows with a performance at CMA fest in Nashville on June 6th, and have continued on the road for their busiest summer to date with performances across Canada from coast to coast.
