KYLE MCKEARNEY crafts an instant classic with release of “Hold on Goodbye”

Delivering an instant country classic, multi-award winning Americana artist Kyle McKearney unveils the latest track from his forthcoming album with the release of “Hold On Goodbye.” A yearning plea to hold onto a fading love amidst the obstacles of life, McKearney once again teams up with co-writers Aaron Pollock and Lydia Sutherland to craft a perfectly melancholy call out for resolve.

Every relationship has its trials and tribulations. Sometimes the only way to hold on is to keep fighting. ‘Hold On Goodbye’ is just that,” McKearney shares. “The place where you feel like “this is over” but if we can just sleep on it maybe we’ll be able to keep fighting for it tomorrow.”

As McKearney continues to unveil his third studio album—co-produced with Russel Broom and mixed by Grammy Award winner Vance Powell—”Hold On Goodbye” highlights the emotional depth woven throughout the record. This follows recent tracks like “Wedding Day” and “Alberta, Save My Soul,” the latter of which raised over $11,000 for Alberta wildfire relief last month in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross. McKearney first introduced the project this summer with “Broken Hearts Hide,” an anthemic track that marries an amplified country-rock sound with his distinctive Americana roots.

The new project follows the breakout success of McKearney’s multi-award winning sophomore album A Traveler’s Lament, which took home the 2023 CCMA for Alternative Country Album of the Year, while also receiving 25 additional award nominations, 10 award wins, and was shortlisted for a 2024 GRAMMY Award nomination in the Best Regional Roots Album category. The album’s success catapulted McKearney from local bar performances to arena stages and major festival appearances across Canada. Following his first tour in the UK earlier this year, McKearney has begun to export his sound to fans across Europe and the US.
