One of country music’s most promising emerging artists, Latin-infused Andrea Vasquez continues to make her mark on the country music scene with the release of her latest original release, Moving Target. This song is now available on all digital streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
Falling in love can be just as scary as it is wonderful. Written by Andrea Vasquez, Bailey Morgan and Eitan Snyder, Andrea’s new single Moving Target, delves into the emotions that come along with it. As many have experienced, sometimes your own fears can keep you from experiencing the love you deserve. It is told in a third-person point-of-view, creating a storytelling aspect that really immerses you in the song.
“My co-writers and I were talking about the internal struggle one may face when you finally find a good person and you are scared and you build up walls around yourself and shut them out,” she shares. The line, “Oh, this girl is a cowboy, you can’t tie her down, no,” became the theme early on and from there the song came to life.
Produced by Jason Bobo, who has produced Andrea’s previously released music, the song begins with a simple guitar and vocals, building up to a powerful, full chorus completed with Andrea’s smooth and captivating vocals. “This song has easily become one of my favorites that I’ve been a part of writing in the past year and it is a great introduction to the music I’m writing and gearing up to release this year.”
With several singles under her belt including a full-length album which surpassed half a million streams just on Spotify, there’s no denying that she is becoming a success story that future generations of aspiring country artists who share her Latino heritage will strive to emulate. Andrea most recently partnered with Latin artist Jimencio to pay tribute to their Mexican roots with their release of Si Una Vez, a signature song which was originally recorded by Latin award-winning artist Selena.
