Born into a family where music was a constant presence, he was influenced by the country classics played by his uncle and grandfathers around bonfires. This early exposure sparked his passion for country music. He began playing guitar in high school, starting with intimate performances at home and bonfire gatherings before transitioning to bar gigs as he became of age.
Taylor’s breakthrough came in 2021 when he won the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase, a significant achievement that propelled his career forward. His debut single, “Good Things,” reached #33 on the Canadian country charts, earning him accolades such as Rogers One To Watch and Acadias One To Watch. His subsequent single, “Better Days,” has garnered over 2 million global streams and was featured on the “Today’s Country” playlist for 18 months.
In 2025, Taylor released his latest single, “Hometowns,” which quickly amassed nearly 100,000 streams within a month.He is set to release a double album later this year, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey. With over 5 million global streams to date, Riley Taylor is establishing himself as a prominent figure in the Canadian country music scene.
