Vancouver artist Madisyn Gifford unveils her beautifully crafted new single “Fast One,” the sophomore release from her upcoming album. Available today via 604 Records, “Fast One” continues to lean further into Madisyn’s evolving folk-country sound, keeping her songwriting at the core.

Following “Seventeen” – a track that leaned into her folk roots, while still maintaining her infectious brand of confessional pop – “Fast One” displays the true talent Madisyn possesses both vocally and as a songwriter as the docile track merges raw emotion with lighthearted humour.

“I wrote the song “Fast One” about two years ago after getting ghosted by a guy I liked. Relatable I know,” Madisyn shares. “The song is essentially about all of the feelings of sadness, shame, and betrayal that can often come from situations like that but also the humour that can come out of them as well. It’s funny how often times it’s the two month situationship that hurts more than the long term breakup, and this song is me pointing that out. Sonically we also wanted to highlight those contrasting emotions in the production. I think in the song you can sense the hurt but it also feels a bit tongue in cheek which is exactly what we wanted!”
