Alberta-raised, Nashville-based rising star Taylor-Rae is poised to make waves once again with the release today of her EP titled Honest (Symphonic). Known for her exceptional country-pop vocals and captivating stage presence, Taylor-Rae has been making significant strides in the country music scene, solidifying her position as an artist to watch over the last few years.
Taylor-Rae’s journey as an artist is a testament to her authenticity and resilience. In her own words, “The release of my EP Honest has truly been a journey of coming into my own as an artist and finding my voice. Capping off this project with the focus track “Honest” feels so fitting as it encompasses so many of the ups and downs I have felt throughout the process of finding my lane in country music. This EP is putting a bow on this era of music and I couldn’t be more excited to share it.”
The collection of six songs showcase Taylor-Rae’s raw originality and dynamic versatility as displayed in the EP’s title track “Honest”. The EP also includes enormous power-ballads such as “Hellbent” and “Are You Still Up,” which debuted at #3 on the iTunes Country Chart.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind “Honest,” Taylor-Rae shares, ““Honest” is a song I felt like I needed to get onto paper. I’m someone who is really good at second guessing everything, and I found myself caring so much about what other people thought that I wasn’t giving time to my own opinions. Writing “Honest” was like my own version of therapy and really became this reminder to give myself a little grace in those moments. This song is so close to my heart and I’m so excited to finally have it out in the world.”
Having already clinched two British Columbia Country Music Awards, including Song of the Year for “If This Is Love,” co-penned by Taylor-Rae, David Borys and Roberta Smith with production by Dan Swinimer, Taylor-Rae has demonstrated her prowess as both a singer and songwriter. With over 4.4M collective streams across her catalog, she has garnered indie acclaim and recognition for her talent.
The lead single from the EP, “If This Is Love”, has surpassed 1.5M streams to date, landed in the Top 60 at Canadian Country radio and earned Taylor-Rae the title of Rogers Media’s“One to Watch Program” on release.
The EP release comes hot on the heels of an impressive lineup of performances, including sharing the stage with award-winning artists like Tim Hicks and Jess Moskaluke. Her tour schedule is a testament to her growing fan base and undeniable stage presence. This summer sees her back on Canadian stages, including a performance in Oro Medonte at Boots and Hearts.
As Taylor-Rae continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic performances and earn accolades from industry peers, Honest promises to resonate with listeners with its heartfelt lyrics and infectious melodies to further solidify her ascent as a rising figure in country music.
