The Jack Wharff Band (previously known as Jack Wharff & The Tobacco Flatts) are adding to their fast-growing catalogue of bluegrass-tinged toe-tapping anthems with their introspective and hopeful new track “Washed,” out now via Big Machine Records. The story is one about falling into old patterns and feeling trapped in the clutches of harmful vices. The vicious cycle becomes so overwhelming that it leaves the narrator feeling isolated and like a lost cause. As the song continues, the track turns into a reassuring story of forgiveness and redemption.
“At some point throughout life, I think many people find themselves falling into detrimental patterns that aren’t an accurate reflection of who they are,” shares Jack Wharff. “This song is about overcoming that, and I hope that others who might relate find hope in the song’s message.”
Written by band members Jack Wharff, Ryan Atchison and Garrett Howell alongside Joe Clemmons, “Washed” covers topics like temptation, hope, and faith, anchored by first-class instrumentation which is quickly becoming an undeniable staple of The Jack Wharff Band’s discography. The strong presence of the fiddle along with the grounding sound of the percussion beautifully brings the message of “Washed” home, reminding listeners that it’s never too late to change for the better.
This release follows last year’s offerings, “Picture Perfect,” which All Country News calls “a heartfelt ballad that feels as intimate as a handwritten letter,” and “Messed Up Kid,” whichCountry Swag calls “relatable, fresh, and exciting to listen to.” More new music from the up-and-coming band is expected throughout the year.
Earlier this week, it was announced that The Jack Wharff Band will make their CMA Fest debut this year with a performance at the Good Molecules Reverb Stage at Bridgestone Arena on June 5. Prior to that, the band will provide direct support for Chris Janson on select dates of his 2025 Tour. For more information and tour dates, please visit thejackwharffband.com.
