Known for her rich, soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, she gained prominence with her debut single, “Sinking Like a Stone”, in 2014. Her music blends traditional country elements with contemporary pop influences, earning her multiple accolades, including the 2015 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Rising Star Award.
In 2020, Merlo won the popular U.S. talent competition show Songland, where her song “Champagne Night” was chosen by Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum) and became a chart-topping hit. Her other notable tracks include “War Paint”, “Dear Me”, and “Kiss Kiss.”
