Métis country singer-songwriter Catie St. Germain has released her new single “Home,” featuring fellow Winnipeg artist Don Amero. Available now on all major streaming platforms, the song is St. Germain’s first release since her 2026 EP 100 Proof and arrives as Manitoba prepares to host the 2027 JUNO Awards.
A 7-time Manitoba Country Music Association Award winner, St. Germain has spent the better part of the last decade following in the footsteps of her Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame Métis legend grandfather. After stepping out as a newly independent artist, she spent 2026 restarting on her own terms and carving out a new path. Through that transition, the people and places that raised her have mattered more than ever, inspiring “Home” and bringing her country music roots and Indigenous pride to the forefront. Pairing warm, honest storytelling with a powerful sense of where she comes from, “Home” is for anyone who has ever felt the pull of the people and places that feel like home, no matter how far their dreams have carried them.
“I’ve spent the better part of the last decade chasing the dream of hearing my songs on radios and in living rooms across this country, and the only reason I’m able to keep pushing is how supported I am at home,” said St. Germain. “That starts with my family, from my own little family to my parents and grandparents, but it also extends to my hometown of Niverville and the whole province of Manitoba. Every story I tell was born at home. It’s where I feel safe, it’s what gives me the foundation and the confidence to share those stories and it’s the place I know I can always come back to. This song is my tribute to all of it.”
Leading with gratitude for where she comes from has also opened doors. Not only has it seen her named the 2026 recipient of the Henry Armstrong Award, an annual bursary and mentorship program supporting emerging Indigenous Canadian artists, but it has also earned her the title of Amazon Music Canada’s Breakthrough Artist (September). Last month, she brought that momentum to Canadian Country Music Week in Saskatoon, performing at CCMA Songwriters Unplugged presented by SOCAN and the CCMA Country Crawl.
“I’ve watched Catie chase her goals with so much heart and it’s been incredible to see her make waves across the country,” said Amero. “We both carry Manitoba with us everywhere we go, so getting to join her on a song that celebrates where we come from means a lot. This one’s for home.”
St. Germain has been building toward this moment since releasing her first original music in 2023. Her debut EP Cleaning House (Or Trying) produced three #1 singles on the Indigenous Music Countdown: “The Day Gets Too Long,” “High Forever” and “Cleaning House.” In 2025, she sang the national anthem at the 112th Grey Cup for more than five million viewers. Now the single sets the stage for a big 2027, as the JUNO Awards return to Winnipeg, a hometown stage St. Germain hopes to stand on.
Delivering the comforting message of coming back to the people and places that matter, “Home” introduces a stronger, more confident Catie St. Germain, who will have more new music and tour dates to come in 2027. It also marks the beginning of a new chapter for St. Germain, one that reflects how far she’s come while setting the stage for what’s next.
