Elyse Saunders is ready to dish all the Dirt. The award-winning Canadian artist continues to add to her impressive catalogue of standout country tunes with her new single “Dirt,” available today. Following her signature style of crafting country hits with double entendres, “Dirt” combines hooky lyrics with a ‘90’s country meets modern swagger feel.
Produced by award winning songwriter and producer Dan Swinimer (Madeline Merlo, Tyler Joe Miller, Billy Currington), the track highlights honky tonk riffs, small-town stories and Elyse’s fiery vocals. Catching industry buzz ahead of its release, “Dirt” was selected as a top 10 Country finalist for Nashville’s NSAI competition and comes at an exciting time in Elyse’s rising success.
“Whether someone is on the right or wrong side of the gossip train, it happens to all of us and while somewhat entertaining, it’s important to acknowledge the potential damage it can do,” says Saunders. “I wanted to bring light to the topic in a relatable way through a somewhat comical style of songwriting with a message that connects to all of us.”
“Dirt” follows her breakout early 2024 release “Never Have I Ever” which was not only a charting song at Canadian radio, but reached #6 on the Australian national radio airplay charts. Elyse heads into June’s CMAOntario Awards weekend nominated for Female Artist of the Year and will take the awards stage to perform as well.
“I’m over the moon! It feels like the fun has only just begun and I’m happy knowing that my music is making an impact and touching people. It’s so cool to see it grabbing attention in both Canada and Australia. I’ve put in over a decade of blood, sweat, tears in developing my craft with the hope that it would pay off one day, so I hope to continue breaking through as more country music fans hear my music.”
